Course Description

This course is intended for members of community buildings management committees.

When you say ‘yes’ to becoming a member of a village hall management committee, what have you taken on?

What are you there to do?

Who are you representing?

What are your responsibilities?

What happens if something goes wrong?

What’s it like in jail?

Your chance to find out about the roles and responsibilities of Trustees (yes, you are a ‘trustee’) and how you can avoid any unpleasant consequences.

We often get calls from village hall committees that are anxious about the potential liability of their members or aren’t sure of their powers. This is a chance to understand the legal and technical aspects of being a member of a management committee.

There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion, with access to guidance notes to share with others.
