Course Description

This is a highly interactive 2 day course in which you will be able to:

  • Learn new creative problem solving skills in a supportive environment
  • Try out some creative thinking techniques you can take away
  • Discover you are more creative than you thought
  • Work on a complex issue or problem important to you or your organisation
  • Work in pairs, small groups and as a whole group
  • Work with colleagues to find innovative solutions
  • Create a workable action plan for yourself or your organisation
  • Have fun!

Please note that this course takes place over two different days with the second half of the course taking place on the 27th June at the same time from 13:00 - 16:00.

Aims and Objectives

By the end of this course you will:

  • Have a range of creative problem solving techniques you can use in the future
  • Be better able to solve complex problems relevant to you or your organisation
  • Be able to take away your action plan and start making it a reality.

About Your Tutor

Caroline Bolingbroke/ Dr Marilyn Fryer

Marilyn and Caroline have over twenty years’ experience of delivering creative problem solving workshops for a wide variety of clients including voluntary, public and private sector managers and staff, company directors, teachers and lecturers, students and consultants. They have undertaken consultancy in creativity development for universities and colleges, government bodies, large and small organisations in the UK and overseas. Their work has been published and presented in the UK and overseas.

 Marilyn is chief executive of UK charity, the Creativity Centre Educational Trust (CCET). She is a chartered psychologist, qualified teacher and former reader in psychology at Leeds Beckett University where she developed accredited courses in applied creativity which were successfully accessed by several thousand students over a fifteen-year period.

 Co-founder of CCET and its former chief executive, Caroline is co-editor and website manager of the charity’s international e-journal, Creativity & Human Development ( ) and CCET projects’ manager. She holds qualifications in film and television production and has worked on programmes for Channel 4 and the BBC.
