OPEN DAY DESCRIPTION On Saturday the 6th May 2017 Devon Communities Together is holding a free First Aid Training Open Day from 10:00am to 4:00pm Come along and learn to save a life in minutes! Do you have some time to spare – because in a medical emergency every second counts and having the right skills could save someone’s life! Devon Communities Together has been working with Jonathan Whiffin of Immediate Training to provide First Aid Courses as part of our Training Hub experience. We feel strongly that members of communities should be given the opportunity to gain experience in life saving First Aid skills for their own benefit and to benefit members of their communities. OPPORTUNITY TO ALSO COME ALONG TO A FIRST AID TRAINING COURSE Jonathan will also be hosting a number of First Aid at Work 1 day courses at the Devon Communities Together office this year as part of our training hub events. The courses will follow the HSE syllabus for Emergency First Aid at Work and will take place over 1 day, from 0930 to 1700. By the end of the courses you will be able to deal confidently and effectively with emergency first aid situations and minor injuries. On completion of the course a certificate is issued which is valid for 3 years. Upcoming First Aid Events: First Aid Training Open Day 6th May 10:00 – 4:00pm Emergency First Aid at Work 1 day course 15th May 09:30 – 5:00pm Emergency First Aid at Work 1 day course 30th June 09:30 – 5:00pm Pricing for the first aid at work 1 day course is priced at £50 for members of DCT to £70 for members of the voluntary sector or parish councils and £140 for other individuals and organisations. It costs from as little as £24 for an individual to become a member of DCT. A little moment of your time can save someone else’s lifetime WHO IS THE FIRST AID INSTRUCTOR? Jonathan Whiffin of Immediate Training is both passionate and highly experienced in first aid training in the community and his enthusiasm is infectious! Jonathan Whiffin has several years’ experience in training and has won an award for his work with a major humanitarian organisation in 2014. He is an active front-line first aider with specialist training and qualifications.
