Rural Futures Conference 2015 - More than a place to live, 1st October 2015 - Met Office

With house prices out-stripping earnings social housing has become a key factor in sustaining Devon’s villages as dynamic communities. Often populated by young families, they are important to sustaining schools, shops, services and the social and cultural activities that gives each community its special character.

That homes are more than the place we live is the subject of this year’s Rural Futures Conference to be held at the Met Office, Exeter on 1st October. The conference examines the interaction of social housing and a number of important aspects of rural life. The conference has attracted a number of nationally celebrated speakers, including Keynote Speaker Lord Best OBE DL, Chairman of the Rural Housing Policy Review.

This event promises to be an important occasion for community leaders and organisations from across Devon.
