The Devon Rural Housing Partnership, of which Devon Communities Together is a partner, has had an excellent year with more affordable homes completed than ever before.

End of year figures for 2014/15 show that the partnership was involved in the delivery of 230 new affordable homes on 26 different schemes and a further 126 homes started on site during the same period.

The partnership also has a very healthy number of affordable homes in the pipeline with 195 currently on site on 20 different schemes and planning permission approved for a further 232.

These new homes are located across 6 rural Local Authority areas – East Devon, Mid Devon, South Hams, Teignbridge, Torridge and West Devon and include homes for social rent, affordable rent (up to 80% market value) and shared ownership, where the buyer pays for a percentage of the home and rents the remaining percentage from the housing association.

The homes are designed and finished to a very high standard and are built to the most stringent sustainability codes. They incorporate the latest energy saving technology in order to provide ecologically sound homes with low carbon emissions and extremely low fuel costs for the tenants.

Schemes involved were: 1. Halwill Junction, Westward Housing (pictured) 2. Malborough, Hastoe Housing Association 3. Bow, Hastoe Housing Association 4. Broadhempston, Teign Housing
