Why we get engaged with energy efficiency schemes

Fuel Poverty may be a bit of jargon, but for most people living in rural Devon energy costs are an issue - fuel poverty in Devon is above the national average, with 1 in 5 rural households classed as fuel poor. Fuel poverty disproportionately affects older households, and rural districts of Devon where the housing stock is older and incomes are generally lower. Energy costs are generally high and so, in a low wage, fixed income area such as Devon, providing heating, hot water, cooking and all those appliances that need energy consumes a disproportionate amount of our income and for those off the gas mains, the options are all the more expensive.

This winter Devon Communities Together is offering the following services to help reduce energy consumption, use power more effectively and live in greater comfort with peace of mind.
