Harry Bonnell

Harry joined Devon Communities Together in July 2018 but was born in NW London. After university in Manchester he moved around north London working in different roles, including: political event organisation; tour guiding; swim teaching and restaurant work. Before working for 2½ years as a Community Organiser in an Estate in Kilburn (NW London) - the work was very grass roots based and he knocked doors and listened to, connected and supported residents to establish community projects and enterprises. The work grew his passion for supporting community enterprises - which he will bring into the very different context of rural Devon. Harry loves to see the magic of an idea becoming reality.

In 2016/17 Harry studied for a masters in ‘Strategic Leadership towards Sustainability’ where he learnt and applied business and group facilitation techniques – specifically to help move towards a more sustainable world. After finishing studies he knew he did not want to return to “the beast” that is London, and having family in Devon made the move to Exeter.

I love Devon because. . .

I can see the hills from my window and tractors have replaced sirens.
