Big Energy Saving Network

1st October 2019 - 31st March 2020

As the nights draw in and the temperatures start to drop, thoughts start to steer towards heating bills and energy efficiency.

In Devon fuel poverty is above the national average, with 1 in 5 rural households and 1 in 10 households overall classed as fuel poor (12.5%). For many people in Devon, saving energy over the winter period is much needed but hard to achieve because of a lack of skills, knowledge or confidence.

Until March 2020, Devon Communities Together is delivering a programme of personalised energy saving advice and support as part of the Big Energy Saving Network.

What are we going to do?

We will be making direct contact with vulnerable people in rural communities to support them to save energy and reduce their fuel bills. We will be reaching out via our existing community networks and welcome incoming enquiries from people who think they may benefit from our support.

Our fully trained Network Champions will be delivering personalised 121 advice to people who need assistance with making energy and savings. We want people in Devon to feel confident in the many ways in which they can save energy and money this winter.

How can you get involved?

Our team is available to attend community events, groups and meetings to deliver our advice and provide 121 personalised support to people who would like to reduce their energy usage. We can also arrange individual consultations.

If you would like to access direct support, know someone who could benefit from advice, or would like us to attend your community event and advise your attendees on energy efficiency, please do get in touch.
