Zoe Seaton

Zoe studied German and History of Art at Birmingham in the late 90s and began her career in publishing in London when she graduated. She now has over 20 years’ experience in both art and academic publishing working with international and domestic partners. Currently, her focus in publishing is on sustainable supply chains and embedding the UN Sustainable Development Goals into content as well as aligning business practices with the goals to accelerate progress towards before the target date of 2030.

During the pandemic, Zoe returned to university to study Regenerative Economics MA at Schumacher College in Devon, graduating with distinction in May 2023. Through the course she learned about economics with a triple bottom of line of people and planet as well as profit. Living in a small but extremely close-knit village on the Blackdown Hills, she is aware of the power of community organisation which led her to apply for the trustee role at Devon Communities Together.

Outside of work, Zoe is a runner and a cricket lover, playing regularly with a women’s team on the Devon/Somerset borders. Both her son and her daughter play as well and there is constant anxiety around broken windows in her household.

I love Devon because…

It’s beautiful but not pretentious. It has varied and dramatic landscapes but with the benefit of active and welcoming communities making it a wonderful place for children to grow up.  Most importantly, it is home!
