Matthew Dodd

Matt was born and raised in Devon and enjoyed growing up by the sea in Teignmouth. After achieving an LLB Hons in Law and Italian at the University of Wales Cardiff, Matt worked for a local charity in Exeter, organising events around Devon. Following that he moved to London and joined the Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in various policy roles and acted as Private Secretary to the Lord Whitty, Minister for Food and Farming.

Moving back to Devon, Matt began working at the Housing Corporation and has since enjoyed a career in housing in particular leading nationally on rural and community-led housing for Homes England. This included working closely with DCT when chairing the Devon Rural Housing Partnership. Currently Matt is on secondment to Exeter University leading work on a Devon Housing Commission.

Matt lives in Exeter with his family and enjoys going to gigs, running and all things aviation related!

I love Devon because...

Devon is the place I will always call home, wherever I may be. It has the perfect mix of coast, countryside and city living and has a wide variety of things to do. It is also accessible enough that when you need a change of scenery you are not too far away!
