Rural Futures Conference: At the Heart of the Community: 28th June

Devon Communities Together is inviting community groups, organisations and local councils to a community conference aimed at supporting and inspiring those groups and people who provide vital services for our rural communities.

Sponsored by Allied Westminster Insurance, the Rural Futures Conference: At the Heart of the Community is taking place at The Boniface Centre in Crediton on Friday 28th June from 10am to 4pm. The day will feature a wealth of informative talks and workshops aimed at village halls and other community buildings, sports and play organisations and local councillors. There will be a series of 20-minute presentations along with a marketplace featuring a range of specially chosen exhibitors. Confirmed topics include:

  • Designing for Play
  • At the Heart of the Community – Devon Communities Together
  • Fire Safety in Buildings

  • Funding a Community Project – Devon Communities Together

Delegates are invited to attend for as much or as little of the programme as they wish and experienced advisors will be on hand all day to give practical and technical advice on issues facing rural communities.

Devon Communities Together is an independent charity engaged in a wide range of projects and services that support Devon’s communities overcome the many and varied challenges they face. Chief Executive, Elaine Cook, said: “This will be an exciting gathering of organisations with common interests and a chance to exchange experiences and information. Community buildings, Parish Councils, and sport and play organisations are at the heart of their communities and we want this event to support and enhance the important work you do.
