Crediton business donates kettles to village halls

A TOTAL of 35 village halls in Devon are to receive new kettles, thanks to a Crediton business.

Hedgerow Print Ltd, based on Crediton’s Lords Meadow Industrial Estate, has donated 35 new 1.7 litre jug kettles to the charity, Devon Communities Together, for distribution.

Gary Radford, the director of Hedgerow Print, explained: “The kettles were spare stock from an advertising campaign we managed and I am pleased that we can now donate them and that they will be useful to people in the county.”

Martin Rich, community projects officer at Devon Communities Together, said: “I would like to thank Gary and Hedgerow Print for the kettles.

“At Devon Communities Together as part of our wide-ranging work we support a large number of village halls.

“We expect halls to be able to open again soon and they are going to have to reconfigure their space. They may have to set up auxiliary ‘kitchens’ in their meeting rooms and so kettles are going to be in demand.

“Halls will have to re-organise their rooms and kitchen facilities will not be available to all their meeting spaces, so a kettle will help them provide a brew for all their users.”
