Why should I come on this training?
This practical half-day workshop is designed for beginners, so no prior video editing experience is required. You will be guided step-by-step through InShot’s easy-to-use features and shown how to turn short video clips, photos and simple text into clear, engaging content using your mobile device.
What can I use this training for?
InShot is particularly useful for voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations because it makes it possible to create good-quality videos quickly, affordably and without specialist equipment. Short videos can help you promote your services, celebrate volunteers, share learning, thank supporters, showcase events, raise awareness of local issues and tell the story of your organisation’s impact.
Video can also strengthen funding bids, monitoring and evaluation. A short, well-edited video can show funders what your organisation does, who benefits and why your work matters. It can help capture participant feedback, volunteer experiences, community events, project outcomes and “before and after” stories that are often difficult to communicate through written reports alone.
What will I learn?
During the workshop, you will learn how to plan a short video, choose the right clips, trim out unwanted footage, add captions or key messages, include music or voiceover where appropriate, and use transitions and effects in a simple, purposeful way.
We will also look at how to create content for different platforms, such as Facebook, Instagram, websites, newsletters and presentations, as well as how to keep videos focused, accessible and suitable for different audiences. By the end of the session, you’ll have the confidence and skills to produce polished, professional-looking videos that can help demonstrate impact and bring your organisation’s work to life.
