The Rural Housing Enablers at Devon Communities Together work with the Devon Rural Housing Partnership to produce housing need surveys across Devon.
These surveys are delivered to every house in the parish and ask questions about the respondents’ current housing circumstances and their views on new housing development with an emphasis on affordable housing; they also identify the number of households in need of affordable housing in the village. This information can help a Parish Council plan for future development and to ensure that the right number, size and tenure of homes are built.
Housing Need Surveys to aid Neighbourhood Planning
One of the most important issues for Parish Councils when preparing a Neighbourhood Plan is future housing development. The Rural Housing Enablers at Devon Communities Together work with the Devon Rural Housing Partnership and Local Authorities to produce housing need surveys for Neighbourhood Plan groups.
These surveys are delivered in the same way as other housing need surveys but can be amended to ask questions more closely related to the local Neighbourhood Plan to ensure that all the correct information is gathered for the Neighbourhood Plan.
If you would like to discuss a housing need survey for Neighbourhood Planning, please contact the Rural Housing Enablers on 01392 248919 or email@example.com.
