Nora Corkery

Nora was appointed to the role of Acting CEO in May 2020 & became CEO in December 2020, having previously held the role of Head of Business Opportunities. 

Nora graduated from The University of Southampton in 1985 with an Honours degree in Law & Politics. She actively chose to work in the public sector, working with the National Association for the Care and Resettlement of Offenders; Womens’ Aid and South Glamorgan County Council in Cardiff before moving to Devon in 1992. 

Nora worked for the national Citizens Advice Service in Devon as a Specialist Welfare Rights Officer and Partnership Development Officer for 11 years, before accepting the post of Manager of Devon Welfare Rights Unit, which she held for 12 years until joining the Directors Team at Devon Communities Together in 2015. During this time, Nora completed the Citizens Advice national management training programme and pursued external studies.

Nora has served over 10 years as a Voluntary Voice elected VCS representative in different capacities including the Devon Strategic Partnership and the JSNA. Nora has also served as Chair of Governors of a Devon Primary School.

I have lived and worked in Devon for many years and as well as the many wonderful people I have met, I love the county’s beautiful natural environment, being lucky enough to live close to both the coast and Dartmoor.
